Clients Turned Into Friends, Over & Over…
More Testimonials
When hiring a contractor you want to have a comfort level along a number of dimensions. These include:
1. On the one hand – “been there, done that” – someone who has done it all before but on the other hand someone who is open to different ways of doing things. Daniel clearly has both attributes, and that marks him as one of the most customer friendly professionals that we have ever worked with. For example, we wanted a heat pump HVAC system (which is uncommon is SOCAL), and Daniel worked closely with the vendor to make that happen. We added a few innovative lighting touches as well.
2. Adding value to the house. Daniel helped us on multiple occasions to improve the flow, the aesthetics of the house, and the usability of the house by making timely suggestions about a wide range of items, including the placement of bathroom items, doors, handles, outlets– the list goes on and on. He brings an architect’s sensibility to construction which has made a massive difference to the finished product (our house)
3. Taking responsibility and being constantly reliable. Things go wrong on any project. In construction, it is our experience that that the buck is continually passed – no one is ever found to be at fault. Daniel is different – he has taken direct responsibility for problems in his lane without trying to offload the problem to someone else – that is incredibly refreshing. Coupled with that is the knowledge that when Daniel says that he will do something, or will be somewhere at a certain time – it will happen.
4. Solid group of subcontractors. Daniel has amassed a set of subcontractors that have worked with him over many years. That has a couple of advantages. They can communicate by referring to prior work that allows the subcontractor to immediately understand what needs to be done: “do it like we did on the Jones powder room”. The amount of work that Daniel provides these tradespeople is also sufficient to ensure that they “pick up the phone” when he calls.
5. Quality workmanship. There are many opportunities for a contractor to use lower quality materials and/or workmanship to complete a project and still get sign-off from city inspectors. Homeowners like ourselves are not going to notice the difference up front. In our case, city inspectors have pointed the opposite – that Daniel often does more than was needed in terms of workmanship.
6. Relationships with city officials. Seaside communities are notorious for the number of obstacles placed in front of landowners and builders. We have lost count of the number of inspections that occurred during our project. Because Daniel has a reputation of his word being his bond as well as the clearly superior end results that he delivers, he has built a rapport with Engineering and Planning personnel that helps accelerate approval times. Inspectors do not ferret around looking for problems because they know that the job has been done right. They also know that when they do flag something, it will be addressed immediately.

My wife and I decided to build our dream home several years ago and after purchasing a lot in the neighborhood in which we wished to live, we set about identifying and interviewing potential builders for our new home. We found Daniel through some mutual relationships and decided to meet to describe our goals and hear about his experience, thoughts and approach to the project. After just a few meetings, coupled with checking his references from several past clients of Goral Construction, we were convinced that Daniel had the best reputation for quality construction and excellent customer relationships and follow through…..meaning, living up to his commitments, relative to most other builders. These were important characteristics for us, for we knew this would be a complicated project and that this industry is filled with many disappointed customers of builders who did less than quality work, missed deadlines, went over budget and blamed others for their mistakes.
Our building experience with Daniel was exactly opposite of that! Working with Daniel, we selected an architect and engineers who converted our design and layout ideas into a buildable project, with which Daniel provided estimates for our budget. We ultimately stayed very close to the original budget, excepting changes that my wife and I decided upon during the project. Just as importantly, we had a very tight schedule as we wished to be completed by Thanksgiving in order to entertain a large family gathering in our new home. This was decided approximately 12 months before we got our permits from the City and proceeded to break ground….and we made that date with Daniel’s focus on coordinating all aspects of the project.
And as for meeting our budget expectations, Daniel’s experience and academic background in architecture was critical, as he was able to help us value-engineer many aspects of the design and engineering plans to achieve our desired outcomes, but at a more reasonable cost. This also helped us stay within the overall budget he worked with us to establish at the beginning of the project. Moreover, there is no such thing as perfect architecture and engineering plans for a project that contain every last detail of what is to be built. All projects contain nuances and challenges that you encounter while under construction. Daniel’s ability to problem-solve real-time and work through and communicate those solutions was critical to staying on track with the overall project. Finally, Goral’s group of subcontractors that Daniel has cultivated over many years, were terrific to work with and maintained the same commitment to quality and problem solving that Daniel brings to the project.
Our fantastic new home would not have turned out the way it did without the quality assurance, technical skills, project management discipline and personal integrity that Daniel brings to the table. We would select Daniel and Goral Construction again and again if we were to do another project – without hesitation!

Our experience working with Daniel and the Goral team was exceptional, truly cannot say enough about them. After interviewing a handful of general contractors we felt most comfortable and confident with Daniel based on his knowledge, track record, professionalism and strong references from past clients. His background in architecture combined with his extensive experience building high-end custom homes served us well throughout the design and construction phases. His input and guidance during architectural and design meetings proved invaluable in ultimately completing our project on time and on budget. Working with Daniel is a collaborative process. He’s a great listener, he provides thoughtful feedback and ultimately he advocates for his clients. He holds everyone involved with the project to a very high standard and drives accountability throughout the process. Daniel and the Goral team have my strongest possible recommendation!

"I can't imagine that there is a better contractor than Daniel Silberstein of Goral Construction. Daniel strives to beat expectations while remaining within the defined budgetary requirements. He has developed and maintained a reputation of unimpeachable integrity which is rarely replicated in the business of home construction. Although he will work with any requested sub-contractor, he has assembled a preferred team of highly skilled artisan's and subcontractors who work together to create a masterpiece. Daniel helped us build a dream house that exceed our expectations, and for that we will be forever grateful."

Dear Daniel, It has been our pleasure and privilege to work with you on several projects over the last few years. Truly, you take the stress out of the building process! From the outset your planning and cost estimations proved reliable and accurate. We found that your sub contractors were of the highest quality, and all work was diligently supervised. You have a great eye for detail, and our homes have a definite “custom” feel because of that. It was comforting to know that you were involved in every facet of the process and very much “hands on” in your supervision.
We highly recommend your services to anyone who wants a pain free and wonderful building experience. Thank you for all your work on our behalf.

We built our home with Daniel (Goral Construction) eight years ago. Not only was the process smooth and enjoyable, but our home has stood the test of time and has had no issues whatsoever. When we first started talking about building a home, we were warned by multiple people not to do it. They shared their terrible stories and experiences with us. Thankfully we decided to do it anyway. Daniel was always professional, and very knowledgeable and helpful. I remember him looking over our floor plans with as much time and detail as I imagine he would have spent if it were his own home. Offering valuable insights and suggestions on how to make the plan even better. He was always prompt in responding to my many questions, emails, texts and phone calls. And the sub-contractors that he used every step of the way were incredible. We felt like we became friends with so many of them but more importantly, we had complete confidence in every person that worked on our home under the guidance of Daniel. Daniel moved our project along with no delays on his part. If there ever was a delay, it was due to my wife and I having a hard time making up our mind on something! He was patient, professional and is an expert at home building. We are often asked if we would build again if they opportunity came and my answer is yes! We absolutely would. I whole heartedly with no hesitation would recommend Daniel as a builder.

Adam and I did not know Daniel prior to building our home. Goral Construction was referred by a friend. Daniel and his "team" were very professional and delivered in all areas of the process of building our home. Daniel's unwavering integrity and commitment to excellence were evident throughout the entire process. I am happy to call Daniel a friend today. I would gladly refer Goral Construction to anyone considering building their "dream".

Daniel realized the full potential of what we dreamed our home could be. In his personable, dedicated and professional manner he lead his construction team in a timely way and turned our architectural plans into a beautiful and structurally sound environment that we are proud to call our home. His guidance at every turn during the project was thoughtful and deeply appreciated. It was a pleasure working with Daniel and we recommend him without reservation!

It was a great experience working with Daniel. He is organized, honorable, knowledgeable, trust worthy and a gentleman. His architectural background was very valuable. His sub contractors are wonderful to work with and he makes each one of his clients feel that they are the most important. Daniel works in as timely fashion as possible. There is always a solution to a problem and he takes responsibility for his actions. I have recommended Daniel to at least three clients and would use him again in a heartbeat. Enjoy the process.

From beginning to end our experience with Goral Construction, specifically Mr. Daniel Silberstein was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had in business. His attention to detail, class and integrity made our project truly enjoyable. We were very nervous about beginning such a large project that we had never done before. Mr. Silberstein took the time to handle all aspects of our concerns with care and communicated exactly what the process was going to entail as far as time and budget. He finished our project on time and in budget. It is not until the end of the project that you realize how fortunate you were to have someone like this managing your building project. Not only is he a great builder but a wonderful human being. You cannot go wrong with a combination like that.

From the moment we began our project, we had complete confidence that Daniel would build us a wonderful home. He was always available whenever we needed him to be and always answered all our questions immediately and honestly. He never gave us a deadline he couldn't meet. We think it says a lot that after a year and a half of building our home together we count him and his family as extremely close friends of ours. He is a man of integrity and you can trust him to build you an amazing home.

We engaged Goral Construction after bidding out the project to several companies. Part of the decision to go with Goral was based on the fact that Daniel was extremely detailed oriented and covered everything needed for the remodel of the house we purchased. The remodel was two rooms short of a complete tear down so it was important not to miscalculate. Daniel approached the project very professionally. He only made commitments that he could keep. He was always on time with meetings, and he ensured that the sub contractors were on time as well. The workmanship of the subcontractors was exceptional. Daniel kept very good records and ensured that we were not bottlenecked by anything. He communicated extremely well with our architect to ensure that our vision was realized. Overall, we could not recommend a better construction company than Goral.

I hired Goral construction in 2017 to build my custom home in the Del Mar Mesa community. I interviewed 3 other builders and decided on GC. Daniel showed genuine interest in helping me with pre-construction hurdles I was facing to get my lot graded and plans approved by the city. He spent a great deal of time meeting with my architect, my concrete frame contractor and my project manager before I hired him. This showed me how caring and trustworthy he is. Throughout the whole construction process, Daniel was present and available. He held my hand the whole time, making decision making easier and the process clear and predictable. He uses the best sub contractors in the industry, delivering quality work every time. I will definitely rehire GC for my future construction projects.

Reliable, honest, detail oriented, client focused, organized are just a few words I would use to describe Goral Construction. They have an extensive rolodex of subcontractors that meet their lofty standards of professionalism, skill, and pricing fairness. I always knew that I could trust them going up to bat for me from step one all the way through to final inspection. Building or remodeling a home is often the biggest investment one will make in their life and I can virtually guarantee that you will be in no better hands than Goral for whatever your build entails. Goral was everything I hoped for from a general contractor for my first home build. I wanted to be involved from a design and budget perspective and not involved when it came to sourcing sub contractors, overseeing work, project management etc. They were able to provide exactly that and I have no doubt that they would have been flexible with whatever level of involvement I wanted.

We received 5 different bids for our home remodel. Ended up choosing Goral Construction. Choosing Daniel and his son Arturo was the best decision we made all year. From design choices to keeping us on time as well as in budget, Goral Construction made the experience great. They were involved in every aspect of the project. Attention to detail was evident throughout the project. We have lived in the house for 3 months now and still amazed how great the house looks. I actually miss the team from Goral. Can’t wait to one day use Goral again. PS— This is the only review I have ever done. They were that great!
